Unveiling Artistry in Steel: My Coventry Show Debut
Greetings, fellow knife enthusiasts! As a folding pocket knife maker, I am thrilled to announce my participation in the upcoming Coventry Show, where I will be showcasing my latest designs and products for the very first time. This event marks a significant milestone in my journey as a bladesmith, and I am excited to share the passion, dedication, and innovation that have gone into creating these unique pieces of functional art.
The Art of Folding Pocket Knives
Folding pocket knives have always held a special place in the world of cutlery. They are not just tools; they are a fusion of utility and artistry. For me, crafting folding pocket knives is a labor of love, where each blade tells a story, and every curve and contour reflects hours of meticulous work.
Design Philosophy
My design philosophy is simple: blend traditional tool making and craftsmanship with modern innovation. The folding pocket knives I create pay homage to Sheffield’s knife making history fused with a modern design, and materials-led manufacture. I believe in preserving the history of blade making in the city I call home, while always ensuring a beautiful, stylish design for contemporary users.
Materials Selection
A crucial aspect of crafting exceptional folding pocket knives is the careful selection of materials. My creations feature high-quality steel for the blades, selected for its superior edge retention, durability, and corrosion resistance. Handles are made from a variety of materials from a range of premium synthetic composites. Sustainability is very important to me and where possible I use a range of materials using natural materials such as paper and linen, ensuring a harmonious low impact blend of beauty, and functionality.
Craftsmanship and Technique
The heart of every folding pocket knife lies in its craftsmanship and technique. Every knife undergoes a range of traditional and cutting edge (no pun intended…. Well, maybe a small pun intended!) manufacturing techniques, and hand-finishing of each part. The result is a blade with a razor-sharp edge, excellent balance, and an unmistakable feel of quality.
Innovative Features
While paying homage to tradition, these knives use the most recent developments in steel composition and in laser cutting, 3d printing and computer aided manufacturing. The feel and weight of these knives along with the practical and functional features make my designs considered, beautiful and robust enough to last many life times - These are heirlooms on the start of their journey.

The Coventry Show provides the perfect platform to unveil my latest designs and products. These are the culmination of 35 years of making and I can't wait to see the reactions of fellow enthusiasts. Here are some highlights you can expect at my table:
